How can we help?

How do I link Paypal to my Lili account?

By linking your Lili account to PayPal, you can receive payouts from PayPal into Lili and manage your business finances in one place. You can link Lili to PayPal either as a bank account or by using your Lili Visa® debit card.

Before you start

To help ensure a smooth connection:

  • Your Lili account must be open and active.
  • PayPal generally requires that the name on your PayPal account matches the name on your Lili account, and that the bank account is with a U.S. financial institution.
  • Make sure you have your Lili routing and account number available if you plan to link Lili as a bank account. You can find these in the Lili app or web app under your account details.

Option 1: Link your Lili Visa® debit card in PayPal

This option lets PayPal pull funds from your Lili account using your debit card and may be helpful for PayPal purchases or quick payouts to your card, depending on PayPal’s features and fees.

  1. Sign in to your PayPal account.
  2. Go to Wallet (or Payment Methods, depending on your PayPal experience).
  3. Select Add bank and cards (or Link a card or bank).
  4. Choose Debit and credit cards.
  5. Enter your Lili Visa debit card details (card number, expiration date, CVV, billing address).
  6. Save your changes.

Once saved, your Lili card should appear as a payment method in PayPal. PayPal may run a small authorization or verification step as part of this process.

Option 2: Link Lili as a bank account in PayPal

This option is typically best if you want PayPal payouts to go to Lili via ACH transfer.

  1. Sign in to your PayPal account.
  2. Go to Wallet (or Payment Methods).
  3. Select Add bank and cards (or Link a card or bank).
  4. Choose Banks to add a bank account.
  5. Depending on the options PayPal shows you:
    • If you see an option to Connect your bank or a similar aggregated login:
      • Search for “Lili” in the list of banks or financial institutions.
      • Select Lili and enter your Lili username and password when prompted, to connect via a secure third‑party service (such as Plaid or Finicity).
    • If Lili does not appear in the list or you prefer manual entry:
      • Select the option to enter bank details manually.
      • Enter your Lili ACH routing number and account number from your Lili account details.
      • Be sure to use Lili’s ACH routing number, not the wire routing number.
  6. Complete PayPal’s verification process. PayPal may:
    • Attempt instant verification via secure login, or
    • Send one or two small micro‑deposits to your Lili account that you must confirm in PayPal.

If micro‑deposits are used, it may take up to 2–3 business days for them to appear in your Lili account. Once you see them, follow PayPal’s instructions to enter the exact amounts and complete the link.

Moving money between PayPal and Lili

Once your Lili account or card is linked in PayPal, you can:

  • Transfer money from PayPal to Lili by choosing your Lili bank account as the destination for withdrawals or payouts. These transfers typically use ACH and can take 1–5 business days, depending on PayPal’s processing times.
  • Use your Lili card in PayPal as a payment method, subject to PayPal’s fees and policies.

PayPal may charge fees for certain withdrawals or instant transfers.

Standard Lili processing timelines apply to any transfers that arrive at your Lili account.
Lili’s card limits apply when using your Lili debit card within PayPal.

If you can’t complete the connection

If you run into issues linking Lili to PayPal:

  • Confirm that you’re using the correct Lili ACH routing number and account number, not the wire routing number.
  • Make sure the name on your PayPal profile matches the owner name on your Lili account, and that the account is a U.S. bank account.
  • If PayPal is verifying your account with micro‑deposits, wait up to 3 business days, then check your Lili account for the small deposits and enter the exact amounts in PayPal.

If everything looks correct and you still can’t complete the link, you can:

  • Try linking your Lili Visa debit card instead of linking Lili as a bank account, or
  • Contact PayPal support to confirm any constraints on your PayPal account, and
  • Reach out to the Lili team (see the options listed in How do I contact the Lili team?) if you need help locating your routing and account numbers or understanding your limits.
