You can link Venmo to your Lili account so you can move money between the two and use Lili for your business spending. Venmo lets you connect Lili either as a bank account or by using your Lili Visa® debit card.
Before you start
To help ensure a smooth connection:
- Your Lili account must be open and active.
- Your Venmo profile must be set up with your correct legal name and a U.S. address, and you must be logged in to the Venmo account you want to link.
- Have your Lili routing and account number ready if you plan to link Lili as a bank account (you’ll find these in the Lili app under your account details).
Option 1: Link your Lili Visa® debit card in Venmo
This option adds your Lili Visa debit card as a payment method in Venmo. It’s useful when you want to use your Lili card to fund Venmo payments or to pay with Venmo at merchants that accept it.
To add your Lili card in Venmo:
- Open the Venmo app.
- Go to the Me tab (your profile).
- In the Wallet section, scroll down to Banks and Cards.
- Tap Add a bank or card.
- Choose Card.
- Enter your Lili Visa debit card information (card number, expiration date, CVV, billing address), then save.
Once added, your Lili card will appear in Venmo as a payment method, subject to Venmo’s fees and limits.
Option 2: Link Lili as a bank account in Venmo
This option lets Venmo send or pull funds directly to or from your Lili account via ACH. It’s typically best if you want to transfer your Venmo balance to Lili.
To link Lili as a bank account:
- Open Venmo.
- Go to the Me tab.
- Tap the gear icon to open Settings.
- Select Payment Methods.
- Tap Add bank or card.
- Choose Bank.
- Follow one of the verification methods Venmo offers:
-
Instant verification (recommended when available):
- Venmo uses a secure service (like Plaid) to connect your bank.
- Search for your bank. If Lili appears, select Lili and sign in with your Lili username and password to verify your account instantly.
-
Manual verification:
- If you don’t see Lili listed or prefer manual entry, select the option to add your bank manually.
- Enter your Lili ACH routing number and account number.
- Venmo may send two small micro‑deposits to your Lili account. When those deposits appear (usually within 1–3 business days), follow Venmo’s instructions to enter the exact amounts and complete verification.
-
Instant verification (recommended when available):
When adding Lili manually:
- Use Lili’s ACH routing number, not our wire routing number.
- Make sure the name on your Venmo profile matches the owner name on your Lili account as closely as possible to avoid name‑mismatch issues.
Moving money between Venmo and Lili
Once your Lili bank account or card is linked:
- You can transfer money from Venmo to Lili by choosing your linked Lili bank account when you cash out your Venmo balance.
- Standard bank transfers usually arrive in 1–3 business days, depending on Venmo’s processing times and settings.
- You can use your Lili debit card as a payment method in Venmo for eligible purchases and transfers, subject to Venmo’s rules and fees.
Standard Lili processing timelines apply to any transfers that arrive at your Lili account.
Lili’s card limits apply when using your Lili debit card within Venmo.
If you can’t link Lili or see an error in Venmo
If Venmo can’t link your Lili account or card:
- Double‑check that your Lili ACH routing number and account number are entered correctly for bank linking.
- Confirm that your name and address in Venmo match your Lili account details as closely as possible.
- Make sure you can sign in to both Lili and Venmo successfully; if there are any security prompts or holds on either account, resolve those and try again.
- If Venmo used micro‑deposits, wait up to 3 business days, then confirm the exact deposit amounts in Venmo to complete verification.
If problems persist:
- Contact Venmo support to confirm whether there are any limitations or restrictions on linking your bank or card.
- If you have questions about your Lili routing and account number or your Lili transfer limits, reach out to us (see options listed in How do I contact the Lili team?).
