How can we help?

How do I link Square to my Lili account?

By linking your Square account to Lili, you can receive your Square payouts directly into your Lili account and keep your business income and expenses in one place.

Before you start

To help ensure a smooth connection:

  • Your Lili account must be open and in good standing.
  • Your Square account must be set up for transfers to a U.S. bank account.
  • Make sure you are signed in to the Square account where you want Lili to receive payouts. Updating the bank account in Square will direct future transfers to Lili for that account (and location), replacing any previously linked bank.

How to link Square to your Lili account

Follow these steps from your Square app or Square Dashboard:

  1. Sign in to your Square account.
  2. Navigate to Settings > Account > Add Bank Account (or Settings > Account & Settings > Bank Accounts in the web dashboard, depending on your Square experience).
  3. When prompted to link a bank, locate or search for “Lili” in the list of banks or financial institutions.
  4. Select Lili.
  5. Enter your Lili login credentials when prompted, using the secure connection (for example, Plaid or a similar provider) that Square uses to verify your bank.
  6. Complete any remaining on‑screen steps in Square.

Once completed, Square will show Lili as the bank account used for transfers/payouts for that Square account (and location). Future payouts you schedule from Square will be sent to your Lili account according to Square’s transfer schedule and your Lili ACH posting timelines.

Verification and timing

Depending on your Square setup, your bank may be verified in one of two ways:

  • Instant verification via secure login (using your Lili credentials through a third‑party like Plaid).
  • Micro‑deposits, where Square sends one or more small test deposits to Lili that you will need to confirm in your Square Dashboard.

If Square uses micro‑deposits:

  • It can take up to 2–3 business days for these small deposits to appear in your Lili account.
  • Once you see the micro‑deposit amounts in your Lili transaction history, sign in to Square and enter the exact amounts to complete the verification.

Your bank link must be fully verified in Square before payouts will be sent to your Lili account.

How payouts from Square post to Lili

When Square sends a transfer to Lili:

  • Payouts are typically sent via ACH using the bank information you linked.
  • Once Square initiates a payout, it will generally post to your Lili account within 1–5 business days, depending on Square’s processing times and standard ACH posting windows.
  • You’ll see the transfer as an ACH deposit or similar description in your Lili transaction history.

If you can’t complete the connection or don’t see your payouts

If you run into issues linking Lili to Square or receiving payouts:

  • Confirm you followed Square’s steps under Settings > Account > Add Bank Account and selected Lili as the bank.
  • If instant verification doesn’t work or Lili doesn’t appear in the list:
    • Check Square’s support resources for manual bank linking, or
    • Use Lili’s general external‑apps guidance by entering your Lili ACH routing number and account number, not the wire routing number, if Square offers a manual entry option.
  • If Square shows that a payout was sent to your Lili account but you don’t see it:
    • Check your Lili transactions and statements for the expected date range.
    • Keep in mind that ACH transfers can take a few business days to post.
    • If you still don’t see the payout after the expected timeframe, contact Square support for transfer details (including any ACH trace number), then reach out to the Lili team (see the options listed in How do I contact the Lili team?) with that information so we can help review the incoming transfer.
