How can we help?

What is the Lili Accountant Portal and who is it for?

The Lili Accountant Portal is a web-based workspace designed for accountants and bookkeepers who serve small to medium-sized business clients. The portal gives you tools to invite clients to open Lili accounts, track referrals, and access your clients' financial data once they grant you permission.

The portal is designed for external accountants and bookkeepers (solo practitioners and accounting firms) who manage multiple business clients on Lili or plan to move clients to Lili.

What you can do in the accountant portal

Invite clients to Lili

You can invite your clients to open Lili business accounts through:

  • A unique referral link you can share
  • Direct email invitations from the portal

Track referral status

The portal shows you which clients have been invited, which ones started applications, and which accounts were approved or denied. This helps you stay informed about your clients' onboarding progress.

Access client financial data

For clients who have granted you access, you can:

  • View a list of all clients who were referred by you and have granted you accountant access
  • Open each client's dashboard to review their transactions, bills, invoices, and account details
  • Download monthly statements individually or in bulk for multiple clients

Important: The level of access you have to each client's account depends on which accountant role they assigned you when granting access. Clients can choose from three permission levels:

  • Viewer — Read-only access to view and export financial data
  • Bookkeeper — Can categorize transactions, manage bills and invoices, but cannot move money
  • Bill Payer — Can initiate payments that require the client's approval before funds move

What you cannot do

Regardless of which permission level your client grants you, all accountant roles have these restrictions:

  • Move money, send payments, or manage cards (except Bill Payer role, which can initiate payments subject to client approval)
  • Change account ownership details or core business settings
  • Invite or remove team members from your clients' accounts
  • Close accounts or modify subscription plans

Business owners stay in full control and can grant or remove your access at any time from their account settings.
