From the Lili Accountant Portal, you can invite clients to open a Lili business account by sending them an email invitation from the Referrals tab. The invitation includes a link that is automatically attributed to you as the referring accountant.
How to send an invite email
- Sign in to the Lili Accountant Portal.
- Confirm that the Referrals tab is selected.
- Click Invite by email.
- In the pop-up window, enter your client’s:
- First name
- Last name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Business Name
- Review the details and select Send invite.
After you send the invite, your client will receive an email from Lili with a link to apply for a Lili business account. A new row will appear in your Referrals list with the status Invited.
Who can I invite?
You can invite:
- U.S.-based business owners who are eligible for a Lili business account
- Clients who do not already have a Lili login associated with that email
You cannot invite an email address that is already associated with a Lili user. If you try to send an invite to an existing Lili email, you’ll see an error message and no new invitation will be created.
How do I know if my invite worked?
After sending an invite:
- The client appears in your Referrals list with status Invited.
- As your client moves through the application, the status will update (for example: In progress, Submitted, Approved/Open, or Declined).
- You can use the search box in the Referrals tab to find a specific client by name or email.
If your client can’t find the email, they should check their spam or Promotions folder. You can also resend the invitation later from the Referrals tab (see “Can I resend or cancel a client invitation from the Accountant Portal?”).
