Lili provides seamless accounting tools to help you manage your business, including expense categorization, tax tools, invoicing, and accounting reports.
If you already use Xero, you can connect your Lili account to help keep your business transactions organized alongside your accounting workflow.
Connection options
There are two ways to use your Lili account with Xero:
- New: Connect Xero from Lili — Lili’s new push integration, recommended for new connections.
- Old option: Connect Lili from within Xero — an existing bank-feed connection method for customers already using it.
New: Connect Xero from Lili
Lili’s push integration is the recommended way to connect your Lili account to Xero.
With this method, you start the connection from the Lili app. After you connect your Xero account and complete the account mapping, Lili pushes eligible settled transactions directly to the Xero account you selected.
How to connect Xero from Lili
- Sign in to your Lili account.
- Open the Xero integration from the Lili app → App Center → Integration & Offers.
- When prompted, sign in to your Xero account and approve the connection between Lili and Xero.
- Choose the Xero organization you want to connect.
- Select the Xero account where you want Lili to send your transactions.
- Review the account mapping and complete the setup.
Once the setup is complete, Lili will begin pushing eligible settled transactions to the Xero account you selected.
Where can I find my Lili transactions in Xero?
With the new push integration, your Lili transactions appear in the Xero account you mapped during setup.
To find your transactions:
- Sign in to your Xero account.
- Go to Accounting.
- Select Bank accounts.
- Open the account you mapped to your Lili account.
- Select Reconcile to review your Lili transactions.
You can use your regular Xero workflows to categorize, reconcile, and include these transactions in your reports.
How does the sync work?
After you connect Lili and Xero using the new push integration:
- Settled Lili transactions are pushed automatically to the Xero account you mapped.
- The sync includes key transaction details, including the date, description, and amount.
- New eligible transactions continue to sync while your connection remains active.
- Pending transactions do not sync until they are fully settled in Lili.
There is no need to manually upload your Lili transaction data or re-enter individual transactions in Xero.
I’m already syncing transactions of my Lili account via Xero. How do I upgrade to the new “Push” integration directly from Lili?
If you already connected your Lili account from within Xero, you can upgrade to the new push integration directly from the Lili app.
- Sign in to your Lili account.
- Open the Xero integration from the Lili app → App Center → Integration & Offers.
- Follow the prompts to connect your Xero account.
- Choose the Xero organization and account where you want Lili to push your transactions.
- Confirm the mapping and complete the setup.
Once your new Lili integration is active, deactivate your previous Xero bank feed connection to ensure new transactions are not brought into Xero twice.
Important: How to avoid duplicate transactions
To prevent duplicate transactions, you must deactivate your old bank-feed connection once your new Lili integration is active.
- Go to your Xero Dashboard and select Accounting > Bank accounts.
- Find your Lili account and click Manage Account.
- Select Edit Account Details or Bank Feeds, depending on your Xero version.
- Choose Deactivate or Disconnect Feed.
Note: Do not delete the bank account itself. Deleting the bank account may remove your historical transaction data. Deactivating the feed ensures that new transactions are brought into Xero only through the new Lili integration.
Working with your accountant or bookkeeper
It can be helpful to speak with your accountant or bookkeeper before connecting Lili to Xero or upgrading from the older bank-feed connection.
They can help you:
- Select the correct Xero organization and account for your Lili transactions.
- Decide whether to map Lili transactions to your primary operating account or another account in your chart of accounts.
- Confirm that your new integration does not create duplicate transactions.
- Set up a consistent process for categorizing and reconciling Lili transactions in Xero.
After setup, your accountant or bookkeeper can review the mapped Xero account regularly as part of your normal bookkeeping process.
If your transactions are not syncing
If you do not see expected Lili transactions in Xero:
- Confirm that your Lili–Xero integration is active in the Lili app.
- Confirm that you are viewing the correct Xero organization and mapped account.
- Check that the transaction has settled in Lili. Pending transactions may not sync until they are fully posted.
- Confirm that an old Xero bank feed is not importing the same transactions in parallel.
If you still need help, contact the Lili team - see options listed in How do I contact the Lili team?
Old option: Connect Lili from within Xero
If you previously connected your Lili account from within Xero, you may still be using the existing bank-feed connection.
With this method, Xero connects to your Lili account and brings transaction data into the Xero bank account you selected.
To connect Lili from within Xero:
- Sign in to your Xero account.
- Go to Accounting > Bank accounts.
- Select Add Bank Account.
- Search for Lili and select the Lili option.
- Select Login & Connect account.
- Enter your Lili login details and follow the prompts to complete the connection.
New connections should use Lili’s push integration. If you already use this earlier method, you can continue using it until you are ready to upgrade.
How much does Xero cost?
There is no additional fee from Lili to use the Xero integration. If you need to create a Xero account or change your Xero subscription, refer to Xero directly for its current plans and pricing.
