We’re sorry to see you go, but you can request to close your Lili account once your balance is $0 and there are no pending transactions.
Before you request closure
Before you ask us to close your account, please make sure:
- Balance: Your available balance is $0.00. Move any remaining funds to another account or withdraw them.
- Pending activity: All pending card transactions, transfers, deposits, refunds, and holds have posted or expired.
- Linked payments: You have updated or canceled any direct deposits, bill payments, subscriptions, or connected apps (for example, payroll providers or payment apps) that use your Lili account or routing and account numbers.
- Account status: Your account is in good standing and not subject to any active holds or investigations.
If you have multiple Lili business accounts under the same login, closing one account will not automatically close the others. You’ll need to request closure for each account you no longer wish to use.
How to request that we close your account
Once your balance is $0 and all pending activity has cleared, you can request account closure:
- From the Lili app:
- In the Web App: Choose “Chat” upon clicking at the "?" icon at the bottom-right ; On the Mobile App: Select “Chat with us” on the menu.
- Request to “Close my account”, then follow the prompts to submit your request.
- If you can’t access the app:
- Visit our Help Center from a browser and use the Contact the Lili team options listed in How do I contact the Lili team?, or use the contact information provided there.
For your security, we’ll verify your identity and confirm that your balance is $0 and there are no pending transactions before we complete the closure.
What happens after your account is closed?
- Processing time: Once approved, account closure is typically completed within a few business days.
- Confirmation: You’ll receive a confirmation (for example, by email or in‑app notification) once your account has been closed.
- Statements and records: We recommend downloading any statements or reports you may need for your records before requesting closure.
After your account is closed, your debit card and any associated features (for example, sub‑accounts/buckets and plan benefits) will no longer be available. Scheduled transfers and payments using your Lili account will not be processed.
If Lili closes your account
In some situations, Lili may close or restrict an account to comply with our terms and conditions or applicable law (for example, for fraud, risk, or sanctions reasons). If we need to close your account, we will normally notify you and explain what will happen with any remaining funds, consistent with our Account Agreement.
If you received a closure notice and have questions, please follow the instructions in the message or contact the Lili team through the Help Center so we can review your specific case.
Lili is a financial technology company, not a bank. Banking services are provided by Sunrise Banks, N.A., Member FDIC. The Lili Visa® Debit Card is issued by Sunrise Banks, N.A., Member FDIC, pursuant to a license from Visa U.S.A., Inc. The Card may be used everywhere Visa debit cards are accepted.
Wire Transfer services are provided by Column Bank N.A., Member FDIC. All wires are subject to acceptance criteria and risk-based review and may be rejected at the sole discretion of Column Bank N. A. or Lili App Inc.
