How do I add my Business Name to my existing Lili account?

You can add a DBA or Single-Member LLC name if your account isn't already registered under a business entity. If you have already attached a business name to your Lili account and need to update the business name or change it completely, see our article: Can I update or change the business name listed on my Lili account?

If you would like to add your DBA or Single-Member LLC name to your new or existing Lili account, you might be asked to provide Lili with documentation.

For a DBA, one of the following is required:

  • DBA Registration Form
  • Fictitious Name Registration
  • Assumed Name Certificate
  • Trade Name Statement/Certificate

For a Single-Member LLC, please note that we require your business to have an EIN number from the IRS and to be registered with your state's Secretary of State. In some cases, we might need to receive your IRS EIN letter (see below an example of this document). 

To upload the documents through the app (available in the Lili Mobile app), do the following:

  • Go to the Main Menu
  • Click on the down arrow where your name appears
  • Go to Account Settings > Business Info
  • Under the Business Name, choose the Add option to add your business documentation

You can also tap here when viewing from your mobile device and it will take you directly to the Add Business Name screen. 


Document quality requirements:

  • Upload a downloaded or scanned copy of your official document — not a photo taken with your phone.
  • Screenshots from the Secretary of State website or other third-party portals are not accepted.
  • Ensure the document is fully legible, not blurry, and includes all pages.

Submitting a clear, complete document is the fastest way to get approved.


Once approved, you will be able to deposit checks and receive payments on behalf of your business. 

Once your request is approved, you will receive a push message with the approval.

 

Single-Member LLC Documentation Example: 

The EIN letter is provided to you by the IRS following your request for an Employer Identification Number. Here is an example of the IRS EIN letter:
