Yes, you can add trusted team members and external partners to your Lili account without making them business owners. Lili offers several roles designed for employees who help manage your finances and accountants who handle your books and taxes.
Who you can add
You can grant access to two types of users:
Company Team Members
These roles are for employees or trusted partners within your business:
- Other business owners — Full account access, including the ability to add or remove users and close the account
- Admins — Manage day-to-day finances and account settings, but cannot change owner details or close the account
- Managers — Limited operational support based on the specific permissions you grant
Accountants and Bookkeepers
These roles are for external accounting partners who need secure access to your financial data. You can choose from three levels:
- Viewer — Read-only access to reports, bills, invoices, and transactions for tax preparation and advisory services
- Bookkeeper — Can manage bills, invoices, and transaction categorization, but cannot move money
- Bill Payer — Can perform bookkeeping activities and initiate outgoing transfers that require your approval before funds are moved

How to Invite a Team Member
To add someone to your Lili account:
- Log into your Lili account at lili.co.
- Navigate to Settings > Team.
- Click Invite a team member.
- Select the appropriate role based on the access level they need.
- Enter their name and email address.
- Review the permissions for that role.
- Click Send Invitation.
The person you invite will receive an email with instructions to set up their access. Once they accept, they'll appear as Active in your Team settings.
Important Limitations
Web app access only: Authorized users, including Admins, Managers, and all accountant roles (Viewer, Bookkeeper, Bill Payer), can access Lili through the Web App only, not the mobile app. Only business owners can use the Lili mobile app.
One accountant at a time: Your account can have one accountant connected at a time. If you need to switch accountants, you'll need to remove the current accountant's access before inviting a new one.
Managing Invitations
After you send an invitation, you can manage it from Settings > Team:
- Resend the invitation email if they didn't receive it or when invite Expired
- Copy the signup link to share it directly with them
- Cancel the invitation if you no longer want to grant them access
Once someone accepts your invitation, their status changes from "Pending" to "Active," and you can remove their access at any time.
