Yes! You can use your Lili Visa® Debit Card internationally anywhere Visa is accepted.
Before you travel or make a purchase with a non-U.S. merchant, keep these important details in mind:
- Your transaction may still be declined in certain locations or with certain merchants due to network rules, security checks, or legal restrictions.
- Online international purchases may require extra verification through 3D Secure, including a one-time passcode sent by SMS to your phone number on file.
- Online international purchases may require a one-time passcode sent by text, so you’ll need access to your U.S. phone number while abroad, including a roaming-enabled mobile connection.
- If you’re using your physical card, make sure it has already been activated and used successfully before relying on it while traveling.
If your card doesn’t work abroad
A transaction can fail for a few common reasons:
- The merchant or region is restricted due to legal or network requirements.
- The purchase triggered an additional security check and the verification was not completed.
- The card has not been fully activated or the PIN is not set for in-person use or ATM transactions.
Tips before you go
- Confirm your phone number is current so you can receive security codes for online purchases.
- Activate your card and set your PIN before traveling.
- Add your card to Apple Pay or Google Wallet before you travel, so you have a backup way to pay if your physical card is lost, forgotten, or unavailable.
