How can we help?

How do I pay my bills / vendors using Bill Pay?

Use Bill Pay to pay bills, vendors, and employees directly from your Lili account, and keep every payment organized in one place. You can upload bills, add them manually, and send payments by ACH or other available methods from your Lili dashboard.

Before you start

  • Bill Pay is available for Lili Smart and Lili Premium plans only. If you’re on Lili Core or Lili Pro and want access to Bill Pay, you’ll need to upgrade your plan first.
  • Make sure your Lili account is active and funded so payments can be processed.
  • Confirm you can see Bill Pay in the left‑hand menu when you sign in to Lili on web.
  • If you plan to use ACH for larger payments, review your ACH limits and note that added security steps apply to higher‑value transfers (more below).

Open Bill Pay

On web

  1. Sign in to the Lili account on web.
  2. In the left-hand menu, select Bill Pay.
  3. Select Add a New Bill to start a new payment.

On mobile

  1. Open the Lili mobile app and sign in.
  2. Tap Bill Pay from the navigation, or tap More and then Bill Pay, depending on the app version.
  3. Tap Add a New Bill to upload a bill or enter one manually.

Bill Pay is the main place to view open bills and paid bills on both web and mobile.

Add a bill

Bills can be added in two ways.

Upload a bill file

  • Choose Upload a bill file.
  • Drag and drop a file, select one from the computer, or upload from the mobile device.
  • Uploaded bill details can help prefill payment information so less needs to be entered manually.
  • On mobile, a phone camera can be used to capture and upload a paper bill directly.

Add a bill manually

  • Choose Add a bill manually.
  • Enter the bill amount, due date, recipient or business name, and set reminders.

After a bill is created, it appears in Bill Pay with its current status for easier tracking.

Choose a recipient

When you create a bill manually, you can either select an existing recipient or add a new one.

To use an existing recipient, search by the business or personal name and select it from the list.

To add a new recipient, click + Create a new recipient and enter the details you have available, including:

  • Whether they are a business or an individual
  • Their email address, so they can receive payment updates
  • Their payment method details (for example, bank account and routing number) if you have them

Saving these recipient details makes future payments faster and keeps your records consistent across bills.

Proceed to payment

After the bill and recipient are set up, select Proceed to Payment and review the payment details carefully before sending.

If the recipient has saved payment details (such as a bank account and preferred payment method), these will be preselected and prefilled for you so you don’t need to re-enter them. You can still review and edit these details before confirming the payment.

Available payment options may include:

  • Bank transfer (ACH) from your Lili account
  • Express ACH, when available, for faster ACH delivery
  • Domestic wire transfer for eligible urgent or higher‑value payments through Lili’s money movement tools

Security for larger ACH payments

Lili uses two-factor authentication for larger outgoing ACH transfers to help protect businesses from unauthorized activity.

  • For ACH outbound transactions of 3,000 USD or more per day, a one-time code is sent by SMS or phone call when the transfer is initiated.
  • Entering that code confirms identity and completes the payment.
  • The transfer amount and any Express ACH fee are deducted from the Lili account balance when the payment is processed.

Other ways to start a payment

You can also start a bill payment from two additional places in Lili:

  1. From Move Money
    • Select Pay a Bill.
    • Follow the same steps described above to choose a recipient, review the bill details, and proceed to payment.
  2. From the bills list
    • Open Bill Pay to view your list of bills.
    • For any existing unpaid bill, you can:
      • Click into the bill and then select Pay now, or
      • Use the three‑dots menu in the bill’s row and select Pay now.
    • You’ll then proceed to payment with the bill details already filled in.

Track payment status

Bill Pay can also be used to monitor whether a bill is still unpaid or fully paid.

When a bill is paid through Bill Pay using ACH, its status updates to Paid automatically. If a bill was paid outside of Bill Pay, it can still be marked as paid manually to keep records accurate.

To mark a bill as paid manually:

  1. Open Bill Pay.
  2. Select the bill to update.
  3. Choose Mark as Paid.
  4. Select the payment method that was used outside of Bill Pay so records stay complete.
