How can we help?

What addresses does Lili collect and how do we use them?

When you open and manage a Lili business account, we collect a few different addresses for you and your company. Each one has a specific purpose, from shipping your Lili Visa debit card to staying compliant with U.S. regulations and generating accurate statements and invoices.

This article explains each address type, what it’s used for, and what we can and cannot accept.

1. Personal address (for each owner)

The personal address is the home address of each business owner.

What it is:

  • Your residential home address in the U.S.
  • Collected for every owner we require during onboarding.

How we use it:

  • To verify each owner’s identity.
  • As the shipping address for your Lili Visa debit card (unless a dedicated mailing address is provided for non‑U.S. owners).
  • To meet regulatory requirements for business accounts.

Requirements and limitations:

  • Must be a physical U.S. or International residential address.
  • Cannot be a P.O. box, virtual mailbox, or commercial mail center.
  • Must reflect where the owner actually lives.

Implications:

  • If the personal address is incorrect or undeliverable, card shipment can be delayed or returned.
  • We may ask for documents (for example, an ID or utility bill) to verify this address when needed.

The business address is the address you provided to your state of formation to receive legal notices. This can be your own address or your registered agent’s address.

What it is:

  • The official legal address of your company on file with the state.
  • May be a registered agent (RA) address, if that’s what you use for state filings.

How we use it:

  • As your billing address for the account.
  • As the address shown on Lili‑generated documents, such as monthly statements and invoices.

Requirements and limitations:

  • Must match the address used in your state business registration records.
  • Can be a registered agent’s address if that’s your official legal address.

Implications:

  • This is the address your vendors, accountants, and partners will see on auto‑generated statements and invoices from Lili.
  • If you update your legal address with the state, you should also update it with Lili so your documents stay consistent.

3. Operational address (where you actually operate)

The operational address is where you and your team actually run the business, day to day.

What it is:

  • Your primary place of business operations (office, store, co-working space, home office, etc.).
  • The address that reflects where business activities really take place.

How we use it:

  • To understand where your business operates in practice.
  • To satisfy banking and compliance requirements related to where services are delivered and where your team is located.

Requirements and limitations:

  • Must be a physical address where you and/or your team work.
  • Cannot be a registered agent address.
  • Cannot be a P.O. box or mail‑receiving service.
  • Can be an international address for non‑U.S. citizen business owners.

Implications:

  • This address helps us correctly assess your business.
  • If your operations move (for example, you open a new office in another country or city), you should update your operational address so our records stay accurate.

4. Mailing address (for non‑U.S. owners’ card shipment)

The mailing address is an additional address that non‑U.S. citizens can provide if they want their Lili Visa debit card shipped to a U.S. address that is not their business address.

What it is:

  • An optional U.S. mailing address for card shipment only.
  • Available to non‑U.S. citizens who cannot or prefer not to receive the card at the business address.

How we use it:

  • Solely as the destination for your physical Lili Visa debit card.
  • Not as your business address, billing address, or operational address.

Requirements and limitations:

  • Must be a U.S. address.
  • Used only for card shipping.

Implications:

  • If you provide a mailing address, your card will be shipped there instead of your business address.
  • If this address is incorrect or unavailable, your card may be delayed or returned, and you may need to request a replacement.

Why this matters

Using the right address for the right purpose helps you:

  • Get your Lili Visa debit card delivered without delays.
  • Keep your legal, billing, and operational records consistent.
  • Stay aligned with regulatory requirements for U.S. business banking.
  • Ensure your statements and invoices display the correct business information.

If you are unsure which address to use in a specific field, follow the labels in the application flow.
