How long does it take for an application to be reviewed?
When you complete your Lili checking account application, you’ll usually receive an initial decision right away. There are three possible outcomes:
- Approved – Your account is approved and you’ll receive an email with steps to activate and start using Lili.
- Need more information – We need a bit more detail or documentation before we can finalize your application.
- Declined – Based on the information provided, we’re not able to open an account at this time.
How long does the review take?
- Most applications are reviewed and decided within minutes after you submit them.
- If your application moves to “Need more information,” review can take a few business days after you upload the requested documents, depending on how quickly we receive everything.
We’ll email you as soon as a decision is made, so keep an eye on the email address you used to apply and check your spam or junk folder just in case.
“Need more information” - what to expect
If we need more information, you’ll see a prompt with a secure link to upload the requested documentation. Common examples include:
- A government‑issued ID
- Business formation or registration documents
- Proof of address
Once you’ve uploaded the documents, our team will review them and finalize your application as quickly as possible, typically within a few business days. If we still have questions, we’ll reach out by email with clear next steps.
If you haven’t heard back yet
If you haven’t received any update:
- Confirm that you completed and submitted your application.
- Check your email (including spam/junk folders) for messages from Lili asking for more information or confirming a decision.
- If it’s been more than 5 business days since you submitted your application or uploaded additional documents and you still haven’t heard from us, please contact our Support team and we’ll take a closer look.
If your application is declined
We know a declined application can be frustrating. While we can’t always share detailed reasons, decisions are based on Lili’s ability to support your business within our policies and regulatory requirements. To learn more, you can review our “Why might my application be denied?” Help Center article.
You’re welcome to apply again in the future if your business details or documentation change.
