Is my credit history checked when applying for a Lili account?

When you apply for a Lili checking account, we do not check your personal credit history, and your application will not appear as a credit inquiry or affect your personal credit score.

Instead of a credit check, we securely use your information (such as your Social Security Number, date of birth, and address) to verify your identity and your business in line with federal “Know Your Customer” (KYC) and compliance requirements. This verification is standard for all U.S. financial institutions and does not involve pulling your credit report.

This “no credit check” policy applies to opening and maintaining your Lili checking account. If Lili offers separate credit or lending products in the future (for example, a line of credit or credit card), those products may have their own eligibility criteria and, in some cases, could involve a credit check.

While we don’t use your credit history to approve your Lili checking account, we do give you tools to better understand and build your business credit over time. With our BusinessBuild and Business Credit features, eligible customers can connect to Dun & Bradstreet (D&B), monitor their business credit scores, and use select products—like the BusinessBuild Card—to help strengthen their business credit profile through reported activity.
