How can we help?

What is Lili’s categorization widget and how do I use it?

Each time a payment is made from your Lili account, the transaction appears in your categorization widget so you can quickly review and organize it. This helps keep your business books clean and separates personal activity for you and other business owners on the account.

How the categorization widget works

  • Every new transaction shows up in the widget with a suggested category based on the merchant and your past activity.
  • You use simple swipe actions to either approve that suggestion or choose a different category from Lili’s list.
  • Once confirmed, the category is saved to the transaction and reflected in your Transactions page and accounting reports.

How to categorize a new transaction

  1. Open the Lili app
Go to the Home screen. New transactions that need your attention will appear in the categorization widget.
  2. Confirm or change the category
For each transaction in the widget, swipe right to approve Lili’s suggested category, or swipe left to choose a different category from the full list. This keeps your records organized and makes it easier to review spending across your business.
  3. Select a different category (if needed)
If you swipe left, you’ll see the list of available categories in the app. Choose the category that best fits the transaction, then confirm.

Once you’re done, the transaction will move out of the widget and into your fully categorized history.

How to fix a category later

If you ever choose the wrong category, you can update it at any time:

  • Go to the Transactions page.
  • Tap the specific transaction you want to change.
  • Tap the existing category to see the list of categories.
  • Select the new category you want listed for that transaction and save.

The updated category will now appear anywhere that transaction is used, including your reports.
